About Us
Here, at the Home Grow-In Grocer it is our mandate to only carry produce/products from BC in support of LOCAL BC farms and producers. It is our hope and mission to encourage our customers and the community to only BUY BC.
In a world where our society and global economy is returning to BUY LOCAL, we are the only store in Vancouver that completely embraces that philosophy. It is our number one mandate to be able to bring fresh and quality BC produce and products to customers while encouraging the re-establishment of the "community" grocery store.
About Our Buyer's CO-OP
We are establishing a buyers co-op ...where a person can buy a share
- single share is $250
- couple's share is $400
- mini-family (2-3 persons) is $500
- full family (4 or more) is $600
SHARES ARE AVAILABLE UNTIL Feb. 28, 2010 --- SO ACT QUICKLY BEFORE THEY ARE ALL SOLD!
With a purchase of a share you will receive a certain amount of fresh produce grown both here in the Fraser Valley and in the Okanagan/Similkameen Valley from June 1, 2010 to September 30, 2010. It will be delivered 2x a week (Monday and Thursday) to the store and to ensure freshness, will be harvested just the day before delivery.
Deb Richardson from the Centre of Abilities will be sending out weekly email updates to the Co-op members on the planting and harvesting of the crops. This special feature will give the members up to date information on the produce of the season from which they may pick their choice of fruits and vegetables. We are hiring students from the University of the Fraser Valley to sort and fill the totes as per each member's request.
Totes are to be picked up at the store OR for a small fee to cover the cost of gas HOME DELIVERY within a few kilometers from the store is offered.
